-David Zopetti
After spending 9 years as the production manager of a large contract manufacturing company in Utah Valley, David decided it was time to create a compnay that would better address each customers’ individual needs giving them a more personalized service.
In 2006, like many great companies of the past, Implementing Ideas was born in a garage. We began with a handful of family members using a simple household convection oven as our post flow oven, working hard to hand solder each project. Despite the difficult ups and downs of the 2008 recession, Implementing Ideas steadily continued to grow.
First Office
By 2009, Implementing Ideas grew out of David’s tiny garage in Provo and moved to a business park less than a mile away. In this building, we grew from 3 to 8 employees. It was in this location that we were finally able to power up our first pick and place machine, which catapulted our ability to better serve our customers into a future of more growth. thanks to our pick and place machine bringing larger projects and more customers, it did not take long before it was time for another move.
Second Office
Moving to a larger facility allowed us to gain key customers such as, Lockeheed Martin, Moxtek, and PowerStream. Key customers only helped us grow even faster. Originally David was doing the accounting, quoting, and purchasing all on his own. Moving allowed David to hire his first ever accountant so he could focus more on the customers and our quality system. Our time in our second building was short, as rapid growth caused us to move yet again.
Third Office
We moved to our current location in 2013, occupying a building in Orem across the street from several of our customers. Up until 2016, Implementing Ideas gained customers by word of mouth. We did not have a website, search engine optimization, or any sales reps to promote the business. Despite not using marketing tools, Implementing Ideas felt a sense of pride that its growth was due to its excellent customer service and quality.
Our first website was created in 2016, when we felt we were better equipped with more machines and well trained employees. We began pursuing marketing tactics to allow current and potential customers to find us, able to use our services more easily. Our employee count is upwards of 30 employees. We are in the process of becoming ISO certified with 9001 and 13485. This past year, we acquired an Xray machine, 3 AOI machines, and hired a quality manager to continue to ensure the quality of our products. In addition, Implementing Ideas has re-branded the logo, website, and overall company; to signify the growth, change, and vision of a company ready to exceed the expectations of its customers.
Since our inception in 2006, we have focused on sustainability, customer relationships, and excellent quality. Our customer pool has grown from 1 to 70, ranging from individual engineers and renowned universities to large global firms, such as Lockheed Martin, Blendtec, and Northrop Grumman. Implementing Ideas has even extended its fingers of influence to 3 frequent customers in Australia. It’s an exciting time to work with Implementing Ideas!
